Project at the Glymur location
We have purchased an exceptional 12.1 hectare (30 acres) property at the very end of Hvalfjörður (the whale fjord) near the beautiful Glymur waterfall (see YouTube playlist), the 2nd highest of Iceland at 198 meters (639 ft.).

We plan for a 31-room hotel and 23 freestanding guest cabins to be built to the highest environmental standards – both construction (BREEAM) and operational (Nordic Swan, EarthCheck and Greenkey. We also intend to drill for geothermal water and add a small hot springs facility. This geothermal source can also be used to provide heating for nearby vacation homes.
By limiting the m2 of construction to 5.000 m2 and not allow more than 200 overnight hotel guests, this will be a very low-impact project, covering just 4% of the land with construction. 95% of the existing trees will be preserved and more trees will be planted to make up for the loss due to construction.
We feel privileged to be able to develop our project at this amazingly beautiful site and will meet or exceed all applicable Icelandic environmental and safety standards to make this an example of responsible and sustainable tourism.
Our project is currently presented online by the municipality of for public consultation. We welcome your comments at Skpulaggsgat.is (Icelandic only).
